As per the instructions given by the government, preparations are being made to further improve the arrangements for traffic, security and crowd management in the Maha Kumbh Mela. An important strategy was made on Friday to correct the mistakes made in the past.
After the stampede on Mauni Amavasya, a joint coordination exercise of police and administrative officers, zonal and sector magistrates and police officers was also conducted under the chairmanship of UP Power Corporation Chairman Ashish Goyal, a senior IAS officer deployed in the fair on the instructions of the government.
It was asked to jointly sign this plan and give it to the senior officials. This will avoid any confusion regarding the upcoming bathing festivals. It was also clearly stated that according to the date, the bathing of Vasant Panchami will start from February 2, so all the concerned officials should prepare for the arrival of a large number of devotees from February 1 itself.
The officials also said that the devotees should be encouraged to take bath at all the ghats so that there is no excessive pressure on any one ghat. Before this joint exercise, a meeting was also held regarding improving the sanitation system in the fair area and the cleanliness of the toilets installed there. Let us tell you that three crore devotees will take a holy dip on Basant Panchami.
