Roughly 24,428 pounds of raw beef products open a New Window are being recalled Opens a New Window. Because they are “unfit for human consumption,” based on a recall notice Opens a New Window. Based on U.S. Department of Agriculture’s (USDA) — Food Security and Inspection Service (FSIS).
The recollected beef products, from Chino, Calif.-based American Beef Packers Inc, include boneless beef chucks, boneless beef, ribeyes, sirloins, and tenderloins.
American Beef Packers on 30th August notified the FSIS that a carcass with pending laboratory results had been mistakenly lanced and processed into beef merchandise, the notice stated. These products had been then circulated in businesses everywhere.
The FSIS has obtained specimens of the carcass for its summary, the notice mentioned.
The full list of recalled products will be found on the FSIS notice opens a New Window. All of the beef products have the establishment number “EST. 34741” within the USDA stamp of inspection, the announcement said.
They were produced and packaged on 21st August and have been shipped to federal establishments in California and Oregon, based on the notice.
The FSIS suggests, if consumers have the recalled beef products, they need to throw them away or revert them to the store where they bought them. The beef products should not be eaten, the FSIS mentioned.
Thankfully, we haven’t heard any studies of illness or hospitalization.
